I just finished the final push to finish the last painting in my Plantasia series, which I started back at the beginning of 2022. I was affectionately titles this painting as the “Love Birds” painting, as it depicts two exotic birds snuggled up to each other amongst the blurred foliage. There is something evocative, romantic, mysterious, and intimate about this image.
I first took this image in June 2018 at Waddesdon, a National Trust House near Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Berkshire in England. It was taken at their Aviary. I believe the birds in the image are Emerald Doves, which are native to India and South-East Asia.

A New Series (featuring the Muttart Conservatory)
When one series ends another one begins! I am quite excited to start a new series of paintings. This one will feature images from the Muttart conservatory in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. I visited there last summer and photographed absolutely everything. The images that I have teased out from the thousands that I took feature tropical plants and a lot of bright light. Now it is finally time to make these come to life and I plan to try something a bit new for me, perhaps a bit abstract… But take the term abstract with a grain of salt when it comes to my artwork!
I am still in the phase of discovering what exactly this series of paintings is and what it represents. I have pulled 7 images for it so far (check out the sneak peek of the images above!). To me they all evoke the same essence; feelings of brightness, wonder, architecture, etc. I haven’t quite found what I want to articulate with these themes yet or my artist statement yet. That usually comes after I have actually started a series, and sometimes a few paintings in. Keep following along to see how this series comes to life!

Prints are coming soon!
Prints! Prints are the answer to if you have always wanted to collect a piece of my artwork. Very soon prints are coming to my website for you to purchase, cherish, and enjoy!
I am now offering prints in three different sizes as well so you can mix and match them, choose a size that fits your specific space, or go crazy and make a gallery wall of my artwork (this is honestly a dream of mine to see someday).
The sizes are: 4’’ x 6’’, 8.5’’ x 11’’, and 12’’ x 16’’, these are all sizes that you can easily find frames for. I have a few suggestions of my own that I will share with you.
Greeting cards are also coming to the shop, along with some new ones that weren’t there before.
I hope you are as excited about this as I am. Prints are a great way for you to experience my work in person, in your home, and be transported into the worlds I create. I hope you are getting excited about being able to place your order! It is all coming very soon.
